1. I felt touched to be in the enviro team because I don't normally/ usaully get picked to do things like this really.
One thing i am excited about is that we are having to make worm farms for our entire school to see. I like collecting worms and I like getting my hands muddy and dirty.

On Monday the 23rd of may, we, as in the envirokids spent a long time getting organised so that we could get building the garden beds. It didn't take us long to get the wood into the hall baceause before you knew it we had gathered all of the wood together and then we got nailing. Although none of us got hit by a hammer or have gotten a nail in our hand it was very tiring.

Today we started pain ting the gardenbeds ( wood). When we were painting the wood we were all getting paint on either our clothes bodies or both. when we finished we were told to go to the bathrooms at the back of the hall to get rid of the paint. We were also told that we would not be able to get rid of all of the paint in one piece. when we left the hall we got out of our spare change of clothes, put our uniform on and went back to class.

Last week we had a meeting in the library for the first time. This meeting was like the old ones but kind of different sort of because we had to write down what we knew already about the composting.
We were all looking at a video which told us which/ whatabout what to use for the composting and stuff.

Today we went for a walk around the lake hakanoa to learn, explore, and search for things such as plants. The things we had to look fof though were: any rubbish laying around on the ground or surface.
We also stopped sometimes to have a snack and to look at the Japanese Garden along the way back to where we came in from.
On one of the stops we only stopped to look at a cute little puppy. The puppy was so cute we were all looking over it and patting it. The dog had so much attention it must have thought it was suddenly popular because we were all saying or telling the lady who owned the dog that we wanted to take a picture of it. Even though it was a bit copld some of us such as Josh and Montrose who didn't have a jumper said it wasn't that cold. So when me and Chervawn took our jumpers off it wasn't that cold either. When we did Teina wanted to wear Chervawn's jumper so Chervawn did. A few minutes later Chervawn was bugging Teina to give her Jumper back because she was cold all over again.
I laughed so loud I thought my laugh box was going to break.

Today when we were at our meeting we were discussing what we did at last weeks trip. While we were their we were looking at some photo's that some of us kids took while we were on/ walking during the trip. While we were looking or examining what photo's some of us took we had to figure out some vege's to put in our gardens. When we were telling Mrs Roberts our ideas if someone said our ideas we were to write a different one about the walk around the lake Hakanoa environment. Some of us had ideas that were a bit unusual to some of us who didn't know what they were but we were fine once Parris the one who had thought of the vegetable told us what it was used for and how to use or do with it. Then a few minutes later we were done with the meeting. When Mrs Roberts explained to us that she was going to pick three of us with a note to show her why we should be allowed to and why she should let us go on the trip. I really want to go because it will be fum and plus were going shopping, well not exactly the same, old, boring shopping but we are going.....GARDENING STUFF SHOPPING... I bet its going to be so fun for the people who are going to be allowed to go on the trip with Mrs Roberts. Chellio whoevers on my page right now.

Today, instead of being in class like the usual days. We, as in the envirokids were going to meet Mrs Roberts in the library to decide which plants we should stick in each garden bed. The names of our gardens were: pizza bed, salad bed stirfry bed, other.
The names of the plants/seeds were: capsicum, tomato, chilli, bazil, cucumber, mesclun, carrot, radish, pak choi, cabbage, zucchini, spring onion, silver beet, peas, beans, and swan plant. After we had discussed this task we all went up to the top courts so that we could do the other task Mrs Roberts had mentioned to us as we were walking up to the top courts. This was obviosly a long task because we were taking a very long time to do the seeds and put them into the containers as well as pouring the water over the seeds and dirt. Time had drifted by because once I had finished my third container of the stuff that we were told to use Mrs Roberts had said to pack up all of our mess and go back to class, but don't forget to get your books back at the library, she had reminded us. If it wasn't for her my book would still be in the library right now. Then she also told us to go to the I.C.T after morning-tea and this is where I am right writing on the computer, in our website and writing what we did today and what I'm doing right now.

Today instead of being outside and gardening and stuff, we, as in the envirokids, all went to the staffroom to talk about what we have learn't, what we like about being an envirokid, our highlights of being an envirokid. For the thing to entertain the tui garden challenge we had to pick to either do: art, writing, visual writing.
